The day of lights-5-11-2010
I had a calm and peaceful diwali this year without much crackers. The most satisfied thing was i went to an orphanage. It was awesome there.Myself and my dad, we did not know where it was actually but my dad had set in his mind to donate some amount to the children there. We boarded nearly four buses, one after the other in a rush, to reach that place. It was a very renowned one, a big one.It had been for years it seems,so was entirely different to that of what i had imagined. We were taken to the orphanage's office,we were to fill a form to donate money. Then they allowed us to go round the campus and there i saw a queue of children each with a box of crackers,i followed them, talking to one of the boys there, may be 6 or 7 years old. His name was surya. I felt something great there, interacting with those people bursting crackers with them.I felt goosebumps all over my body when i realised that those children had none to take care of. So much of over doing at home by our parents, calls from all our relatives, u ate? u studied? is ur health gud bla bla.. mama, athai, chithi chithapa n goes on n we are like Oh god!! stop this.. yaaru keta? n there, they have none to ask how are you my son? and we keep fussing at home having all comforts.
The day made me realise all these facts. The other side, i saw the most ugliest thing too. I saw many people drunk in the bus, in the electric train. The smell gives me a vomiting sensation!! yuck!! n my dad was explaining according to them drinking alcohol is a celebration. What a culture!!! A drunkard slapped someone in the electric train, there was a comotion there. I could not tolerate it. When there are many other beautiful things to be seen in this world, why spoil my mind with these bad thoughts? But one thing for sure, when are these ugly things gonna end??? Returned with these thoughts back to home.

The fire waterfall
Yosemite National Park, California , USA
This park was gazetted as a national park in 1890. It is world famous for its rugged terrain, waterfall and century-old pine trees. It covers 1200 sq km and the "fire" waterfall of El Capitan is one of the most spectacular of all scenery.
The spectacular view of the waterfall is created by the reflection of sunlight hitting the falling water at a specific angle. This rare sight can only be seen at a 2-week period towards the end of Feburary. To photograph this rare event, photographers would often have to wait and endure years of patience in order to capture them. The reason is because its appearance depend on a few natural phenomenons occuring at the same time and luck.
1.The formation of the waterfall - The water is formed by the melting of snow and ice at the top of the mountain. It melts between the month of December and January and by the end of February there might not have much snow left to melt.
2.Is the specific angle of the sunray hitting the falling water - The sun's position must be exactly at a particular spot in the sky. This occur only in the month of February and at the short hours of dusk. If it is a day full of clouds or something blocking the sun, you can only take pictures of your own sorry faces on the waterfall. It coincides with the fact that the weather in the National Park at that time of the year is often volatile and unpredictable. It compounds to the difficulty of getting these pictures.
Someone did !!! And we all get to see it !!! And I am able to post it fortunately in my blog of YELLOW-BLACK combo.. ;) :P
the joy of celebration
Diwali is coming on its way tomorrow. So much of enthusiasm and happiness. I just went for a walk right down my streets and could see people of various classes enjoying like anything. A boy asking his dad (an automan) for a new kind of dress that has come out in the market, his dad so affectionately carrying him and getting into the shop "tell,my son, will buy you whatever you like" and the glow on the boy's face. Wow isn't this a celebration!!! While enjoying that scene i forgot where i was and suddenly heard a voice "akka akka, its gonna burst now.. move aside... " and i was like oooooooohhh.. reflex action, my hands closed my ears and then was a buuuuuuuusssssss!!!!! and all those kids there laughed!!! isn't this the real happiness??? wow!!! And u noe wat i din buy any crackers this year. That's coz i truly miss my sis n bro. They are not here for this diwali and thought i can't burst them alone, won't be able to enjoy without them. Engrossed in those thoughts i entered my flats and there stood my neighbour, a 7 year old boy "oie janani, va na vedi vekka poren" his parents telling "please accompany him" and i happily went with him catching his small hands, helping him hold the "mathapu" and the sounds "dhaam dhoom damal" and the kid gave a hearty laugh and a kiss on my cheek. THAT'S THE CELEBRATION!!!!! Now i have bought crackers just today, only for celebrating it with that kid. :)
have a happy and safe diwali everyone.. :)
wid love

What wonders music can make!!!!
Believe it or not! Musical notes of 18th century maestro Mozart is now being tested whether it can boost the activity of micro-organisms in breaking down biosolids.
A German company is testing a sound system that replicates the vibrations and sounds of the concert hall which, when combined with oxygen, helps break down sewage, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
The process being tested involves a stereo sound system developed by a private company, Mundus. It claims the sound waves of Mozart's "The Magic Flute" and "The Marriage of Figaro", togetherwith oxygen, boost the activity of micro-organisms in breaking down biosolids.
"Mozart managed to transpose universal laws of nature into his music," a founder of the company, Anton Stucki, was quoted saying.
"It has an effect on people of every age and every cultural background. So why not microbes? After all, they are living things just like us."
Australian water conservation body Sydney Water said it has been monitoring progress of the trial, looking for performance data before considering any possible application at its sewage treatment plants.
"There has been no scientific testing reported on the performance of this sewage treatment process," a spokesman for Sydney Water said.
"Nonetheless, Sydney Water will monitor the progress of the German trial to see what, if any, performance data emerge that might be of practical use.
"It is a novel suggestion that Mozart could help microbes perform better, and one that our science and technology staff have not heard before."
In sewage treatment, the waste water flows to aerated tanks where bacteria consume what they can. With Mozart's aid, micro-organisms are expected to increase the aerobic degradation of organic matter or the breakdown of organic contaminants when oxygen is present. The procedure has already been tested successfully in Austria last year.

AWESOME LYRICS
BUBBLY- COLBIE CAILLAT
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglees in a silly place
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
The rain is fallin' on my window pane
But we are hidin' in a safer place
Under the covers stayin' safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
They start in my toes
Make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way?
I just, mmm
It starts in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
I?ve been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin' shows
'Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin' me tight
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglees in a silly place
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
The rain is fallin' on my window pane
But we are hidin' in a safer place
Under the covers stayin' safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
They start in my toes
Make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way?
I just, mmm
It starts in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
I?ve been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin' shows
'Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin' me tight
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go
